About the Justin Initiative.

Safety is personal- so is our mission.

The Justin Initiative was born from loss—but built for impact.

This mission was founded to change how organizations think about safety—moving beyond compliance to focus on what truly matters: protecting lives.

Justin was 27 years old when a workplace exposure he didn’t know existed took his life.

His loss revealed something data alone cannot:
Behind every serious injury or fatality is a person—and a family—forever changed.

This is why we do this work.

Aron Yellott, MS, CSP, ASP

Founder · Safety Advocate · Keynote Speaker

Aron lost her husband Justin to a preventable workplace exposure in 2004. He was 27. She was left to raise their daughter Mia, and was pregnant with their son Graham, who never got to meet his father.

That loss became the foundation of everything. After 15+ years working inside global organizations — watching how safety culture succeeds and fails at the human level — Aron founded The Justin Initiative to ensure Justin's death created lasting change.

Her mission is simple: fewer families should have to live this story.

Our Mission

To advance human-centered safety leadership and prevent serious injuries and fatalities through:

  • Stronger leadership
  • Better systems
  • Deeper understanding of risk
  • And a relentless focus on people

Because everyone deserves to go home

Because everyone deserves to go home

Because everyone deserves to go home

Because everyone deserves to go home

Because everyone deserves to go home

Because everyone deserves to go home

This isn't just our work- it's the life we live every day.

A Family-Led Movement

The Justin Initiative is more than a consultancy, or speaking team- It is a family-driven effort to create lasting change in how safety is understood and led.

Mia Yellott

Mia was four years old when she lost her father. Today she carries that loss into every speaking engagement — representing the children behind every workplace fatality. She supports The Justin Initiative through speaking, scheduling, and social media, ensuring the mission reaches the audiences that need it most.

Graham Yellott

Graham never got to meet his father. He was born after Justin passed, knowing him only through photographs and the stories others tell. His presence in this work is a quiet, powerful reminder of what's at stake — and why prevention cannot wait.

Because safety isn’t just a metric—it’s a life.
